Note on Working with Laminated Fabric
| Step 1:
Cut laminated fabric and terry cloth from pattern. |
| Step 2:
Baste the laminated fabric and terry cloth together within 1/4" of edge. |
| Step 3:
Cut fabric for bias binding to desired width. (I used the 3/4" Bias Tape Maker, requiring a 1 5/8" wide strip). You need 62" of binding to go around the bib and create the ties. The neck circle requires 14" of binding. |
| Step 4:
Machine stitch binding to bib, easing binding around curves. Start with the inner neck curve and cover those ends with the outer binding. |
| Variations:
I used a string tie on this bib because my daughter pulls off her velcroed bibs and I'm tired of the velcro pileup in the laundry. You could extend the top curve of the bib to overlap and use a velcro closure instead. |
