Shown above: Fringed hand towels and fingertip towel with White Shell on Mediterranean Blue 38mm (1 1/2") and Mediterranean Blue Waves in 23 mm (7/8"). Your towels can remind you of the beach all year round.

Heat 'n Bond the ribbons to the towels with the appropriate width Heat 'n Bond, turning under the raw edges on each end. I used Ultrahold in 7/8" and for the 1 1/2" ribbon, use 7/8" and 5/8". Then I stitched on all four sides of the ribbons.

If you are interested in embellishing your own towels, visit the following categories/pages on our site:
  • Blanks -towels, fringed and hemmed.
  • Appliques -lots of ready to iron-on appliques available.
  • Ribbons -lots of ribbons to choose from. Grosgrain is probably the easiest to work with and most durable. Jacquards can make some beautiful towels. I would just avoid ribbons that are too thin as they can be hard to work with.
  • Fabric Applique How-to's -make your own appliques with fabric.
  • Glue/Adhesives -Heat 'n Bond and spray adhesive.
  • Short-Ends -fabric remnants for your own appliques.
  • Stencils -patterns for your appliques.
