Fabric-Covered Thumbtacks

The idea and instructions for these darling thumbtacks came from Jessica Jones's blog How about Orange. Thank you, Jessica, for an easy, no sew, fast project.
thumbtacks
  • I used 4 sizes of You Cover Buttons for these thumbtacks: Size 20 (1/2"), 24 (5/8"), 30 (3/4") and 36 (7/8").
  • I literally used fabric scraps. I love the way the fabric changes on such a small surface- sometimes the bigger prints became the most interesting.
  • If you use the Flat back You Cover Buttons, you don't have to remove the wire-eye back.
To make your own thumbtacks, get your supplies below:
  • You Cover Buttons- The kits include the holder and pusher (for assembling the buttons). If you use the Flat back buttons you don't have to take the wire eyes off.
  • Bag of Fabric- a huge variety of little scraps perfect for button making.
  • Thumbtacks
  • Glue Gun
